1:1 Postpartum Planning Coaching

You’ve bought the baby gear, you’ve set up the nursery, you’ve taken the labor and delivery classes. You’re ready to take care of your new family member…right?

When we are expecting a new baby, we tend to plan for everything related to the baby—but we forget to include ourselves in the planning!

I’m not talking about “self-care”. I’m talking about how you’ll build your support network as you transition from not-a-parent to parent.

Did you know that the period following the birth of a child is one of the biggest developmental phases in our lives besides adolescence? We even have a term for it: matresence. Most people don’t realize that their brain, post-baby, undergoes a complete rewiring to help us learn how to nurture and love this completely new little person we find ourselves responsible for.

And yet, so many mothers don’t know to plan for this phase. We are expected to return to the person we were before we had a baby, with zero acknowledgment that that person no longer exists, or even that the postpartum phase lasts longer than the 6 weeks to 3 months many of us have had to fight for.

If you are ready to start planning how you’ll nurture and support yourself, I am here to help! I have birthed two babies, and had two very different postpartum experiences. I’ve also talked to many second-time moms about what they would have done differently for their first postpartum, and I want to pass my learnings onto new moms and birthing parents.

I am offering a 1:1 postpartum planning coaching session, with weekly calls to plan your postpartum experience, check in with how you’re doing, help you troubleshoot any issues or make decisions on what kind of support you’ll need, and be your village. During coaching, you’ll receive a planning worksheet that you can fill out with your custom postpartum support, from doulas to meal trains to pelvic floor therapy to returning (or not) to paid work. You’ll also put together an emergency triage plan for yourself, for when you’re in the thick of it and you need support immediately, whether that’s someone to come hold your baby while you shower to how to get help for postpartum depression/anxiety. You’ll also walk away with scripts to bring your partner and family on board to help support you.

Each coaching calls are 45 minutes long, and you will have on-call access to me via email and the Signal app between sessions, where I will respond in less than 48 hours. After your coaching has completed, you will join our Moms On Call virtual community through an alumni group on Signal.

Our modern, technology-based lifestyle means that our villages look much different than they used to. Let me be part of the new village you build, and together, we can ease your mind and help you develop a plan on how to succeed, no matter what that looks like!
